Our Puppy Raising Process

From birth to 8 weeks - our comprehensive approach to raising healthy, well-socialized wolfdog puppies

Excellence in Early Development

At Ketheryn Mitchems Wolfdog Ranch, we believe that the first eight weeks of a puppy's life are crucial for their development into well-adjusted, confident companions. Our comprehensive raising process combines proven scientific methods with decades of hands-on experience to give every puppy the best possible start in life.

Whelping preparation

Whelping Preparation & Birth

1 Pre-Whelping Setup

All our litters are whelped in our climate-controlled indoor facility. We prepare a specialized whelping area with premium bedding, proper ventilation, and easy access for monitoring and care.

2 Professional Monitoring

Our experienced team maintains 24/7 supervision during whelping. We work closely with our veterinarian to ensure the health and safety of both mother and puppies throughout the birthing process.

3 Optimal Environment

Temperature-controlled whelping boxes with washable bedding and safety rails ensure puppies stay warm and secure. We maintain detailed records of each puppy's birth weight and initial health assessment.

Early Socialization & Development

Neurological Stimulation (Days 3-16)

We implement Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) protocols to enhance neurological development, stress tolerance, and overall resilience. This includes gentle handling exercises that promote optimal brain development.

Sound Socialization (Week 3-8)

Puppies are gradually exposed to various sounds including household noises, music, nature sounds, and human voices. This helps develop confident, well-adjusted temperaments that adapt easily to new environments.

Human Interaction

Daily handling by family members and approved visitors ensures puppies are comfortable with human touch and interaction. We focus on positive experiences that build trust and confidence.
